BOULDER, CO August 2005 - After the successful introduction of their stainless steel all-weather pen at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, Inka Corp is proud to introduce a titanium/carbon fiber version of the popular pen at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City. Unlike most titanium pens, which are titanium plated, the barrel of the new Inka pen is machined from solid aerospace grade titanium, giving it very high corrosion resistance and an incredible strength-to-weight ratio. To further maximize the strength-to-weight ratio, the other components of the pen are built from high-strength carbon fiber composite.
"We decided on the carbon fiber/titanium combination while researching the best material choices current technology has to offer," stated Inka designer and founder, Greg Adelman. He continues, "we were so pleased with the properties of carbon fiber, we switched to it for the standard Inka pen as well."
Inka made its debut last January at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market with the original stainless steel Inka pen, the first in its new line of writing instruments designed to go and write anywhere. The Inka pen is a compact, precision-crafted all-weather pen that is engineered to perform in all environments. With its sleek, lightweight, cylindrical design and pressurized ink cartridge, it writes at any angle, temperature, altitude and even underwater. Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast - from pilot to scuba diver, mountain climber to fisherman, Inka's innovative design enables it to transform from a quick-use pen to a full-size writing tool and has an integrated PDA stylus. The key-ring easily and securely attaches it to clothes or gear.
"We've taken a common device and reinvented it to have a higher level of function, portability, precision and style," stated Adelman. He continues, "Our products enable people to write wherever and whenever they want."
